Why my Laptop gets hanged ?

by Kunal Mahurkar

I've Lenovo G580 , 2013 purchased and specs were 2GB RAM, 1tb HDD, i3 Processor,and recently 6 months back i had upgraded my ram to 6gb.

Now my problem started 10 days back when i formatted it with win 7, it would start easily but after some time used to get hanged or freezed.

After that i formatted it again using Ubuntu 14.04 and again same problem.

Last night i went to a repair shop and asked him, he told me that my disk drive is causing this and when he removed the disk drive it again took a while to start up, he says its shot so you have to replace it.

And second prob. He said was of because the HDD is heating up very fast and it is stuck on windows logo after that its just blank screen.

What should i do?? Should i replace the HDD? Or first run consistency check on drives???

Fix It Now
by: Faisal

Hello Kunal Mahurkar, sorry in delay of replying to your problem.

Please try the following tips and get back to us if it works.

1. Maybe its the cooling fan. Sounds like maybe CPU is overheating and that's why it freezes.

You may need to replace your CPU FAN or Replace your CPU.

2. You may follow these steps and boot in safe mode with networking, check if the issue persists.

a) Press the ‘Windows + C’ key on the keyboard.
b) Click on settings, more pc settings and then general.
c) Scroll down to advanced startup, click restart now.
d) Click on troubleshoot, advanced options, Windows Startup Settings.
e) Click restart, select safe mode with networking and then press enter.

If the issue does not persists in Safe Mode with networking, then perform a clean boot to check if any third party application is causing the issue, as clean boot helps in eliminating software conflicts.

I hope this tips helps. Please contact us again for your feedback.
